Sujets de recherche :

1- Métabolisme du système nerveux central sain :

Etude des interactions métaboliques entre neurones et astrocytes. La problématique est la suivante : est-ce que le lactate, synthétisé par les astrocytes, est bien un substrat préférentiel des neurones lors de l’activation cérébrale ? Cette problématique est actuellement sujette à polémique et anime le monde de la neuroscience. Notre approche se fait principalement par spectroscopie de RMN, du proton et du carbone-13, sur un modèle d'activation cérébrale, aussi bien ex vivo (HRMAS sur un 500MHz Bruker) qu'in vivo (spectroscopie localisée à 7T).

 

2- Métabolisme du système nerveux central pathologique :

Deux aspects sont principalement abordés : d’une part le rôle de la nutrition sur le métabolisme cérébral (diabète, carence, diète cétogène, impact du resveratrol un polyphénol du vin, ...) et d’autre part, nous étudions les effets de l’hypoxie sur le cerveau du nouveau-né en suivant, en plus du métabolisme par spectroscopie de RMN, les lésions cérébrales par IRM de diffusion chez le raton hypoxique-ischémique ainsi que les potentiels effets neuroprotecteurs de certaines molécules (EPO, lactate).
